Dr Ralf Lindner is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Emerging Technologies and Coordinator for Technology Assessment and Governance within Fraunhofer ISI. In this function, he has participated in, as well as managed and coordinated numerous large national and European research projects in the fields of science, technology and innovation policy, and governance. He is specifically interested in the analysis of diffusion and the adoption processes of new technologies, particularly ICTs, and internet-based communication and interaction processes, particularly e‑participation and e-democracy. Additional research interests include the policy design and governance approaches for transformative change, responsible research and innovation, and processes of policy learning.
Dr Ralf Lindner obtained his degree in Political Science and Economics at the University of Augsburg, completed graduate work at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver), and post-graduate studies at Carleton University (Ottawa). From 2011 to 2013, Dr Lindner was a chair in Political Science at the Quadriga University Berlin, where he also was head of the Department of Politics and Public Affairs.
He recently co-edited the volume "Electronic Democracy in Europe" (Springer 2016), and is currently preparing a book on European E-Democracy in Practice (also with Spinger).
